The Innovating Together workshop was held on Wednesday, October 4, 2020. The first edition was a great success and gathered about 60 professionals, students, professors and academic collaborators around the issues of innovation and collaboration. This event was the first in a series of workshops and conferences with the Chair’s collaborators. It was an opportunity for participants to discuss current and future projects, but also to exchange on the challenges of collaboration between academic and industrial poles. This interactive workshop allowed us to highlight three challenges to this collaboration: the differences between research practice and projects and industrial practice, the adequacy of timelines and the integration of students. The workshop also sparked an open discussion among the various stakeholders in the field to find solutions that work for all parties. Another step towards a continuous improvement of the collaboration between the Chair and its partners.
The upcoming Innovating Together workshops will serve as a milestone to mark the progress of the Chair’s projects, as well as the development of new practices and technologies around BIM and construction. This will be an opportunity for industry players to share their experiences and thoughts on the collective evolution of construction practices and technologies.
