The Common Data Environment (CDE) is a common digital project space, which provides well-defined access areas for project stakeholders, as well as clear definitions of status and a precise workflow description for sharing and approval processes. (C. Preidel, A. Borrman,2016) However, there is still too little analysis of CDEs and their deployment in Quebec. This project consists of investigating the challenges and barriers encountered when implementing CDEs in construction projects in Quebec. The goal is also to establish a common definition of EDCs in order to clarify the still vague concept. The use of an CDE can bring many benefits, such as cost reduction, more transparent access and sharing of data, simpler and faster collaboration and communication.
