High winds can affect construction safety in many ways. There are many statistics on injuries and fatalities caused by working in these conditions. There is a need to monitor conditions continuously and locally at work sites, especially at heights.
Regulations on this subject require regular monitoring of wind speed and thunder conditions by safety officers. They must check weather reports and monitor conditions at all times. As a result, work should not be planned at high elevations on days when high winds are expected, and work on scaffolding, roofs, or other elevations should never be permitted during high winds.
Siamak’s project aims to use IoT technology to develop a system to prevent accidents caused by high winds when working at altitude. Thus, the goal of this research project is to reduce the risk of accidents at altitude by monitoring wind speed and safety issues related to this issue in real time.
