Camille Jolain
Master’s student in construction engineering
Since 1990, Quebec City has undertaken a greenhouse gas reduction program that will be in place until 2020. This includes three major axes:
◘ The optimized and efficient management of residual materials
◘ The use of energy-efficient motorized equipment
◘ The energy efficiency of buildings
It is on this third point that Camille’s study focused. This one aims to provide an analysis of the existing energy management systems of the Quebec City building stock in order to implement a framework for monitoring the performance of the assets based on the digital twin concept. To do this, Camille has:
◘ Documented the systems, tools, and issues of Quebec City’s real estate asset management,
◘ Assessed the level of real estate asset management,
◘ Issued recommendations for energy performance management.
To concretize its observations and recommendations, a next project will be conducted in collaboration with the city of Quebec around the Bardy Arena. Indeed, this one has been chosen as a pilot project for the implementation of an energy performance management system thanks to the digital twin.
